AM SHANLEY
AM Shanley is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer from the North of Ireland whose pop-soaked lo-fi indie rock and analogue tape soundscapes have evoked comparisons to the likes of Sparklehorse, Guided by Voices and Elliott Smith.
He quickly established himself as a unique songwriter and artist in the Belfast music scene, receiving support from BBC 6 Music, Radio 1 and Radio Ulster, holding Artist in Residence at the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, receiving awards for his work at the Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival and picking up nominations at the Northern Ireland Music Prize. Shanley has toured extensively in the US and Europe, sharing bills with Hozier, Foy Vance, Phoebe Bridgers and Kurt Vile, and has periodically lived and worked in Nashville and London where he’s written for other artists and contributed music to TV and film, such as The CW's Hart of Dixie and ABC's Switched at Birth.
Following a three year hiatus and a return to Ireland, Shanley assembled a new band and began recording with Julie McLarnon in January 2020 and subsequently signed to Analogue Catalogue Records.
